Compared to Spirit X with HD800 as referenceSound profile of the pro is set to the bass-light mode.Comfort: Smaller footprint than the X around the ear and the fit for both is about a 7.5/10, fine enough for me. Not completely secure but seems fine when running. The magnet in this is nice when not wearing.Sound compared to the Spirit X:Significantly less bass volumeMarginally less bass impact (volume adjusted)Significantly better soundstageMarginally better imagingBetter male vocal/guitar/cymbal textureBetter instrument decayMid/treble more upfront but still a bit recessed compared to my mid/treble forward preference (HD800)Nothing approaching sibilant to me, which is a negative for me and probably a plus for most. For $10 more and with marginally better fit and much better sound for me. This is a no brainer choice compared to the Spirit X for me. I do wish they release a hard band version of this with better battery life. That would be ideal for me.
I wanted a pair of ear buds that I could use at night. I like to listen until I fall asleep. My Apple earbuds keep falling out and they are difficult to find. The apple wired ear buds seem to have a very short useful life. The Anker buds are pretty comfortable for long use, the sound quality is excellent ( I used them for podcasts , so can't comment on music) One really positive point for these is the don't have a bright light on when in use. There is blue led the is visible if they not picking up signal. This helps if the fall on the floor, the light comes on and you fond them. Overall, very good for a very inexpensive product.
Sound quality really great. Loud. The bass boost is a great feature. I love the controls. Auto-connects to bluetooth effortlessly after first pairing - just turn the earbuds on and they connect.Only con is minor, and more a personal problem. I like to listen to podcasts in bed while laying on my side. The earbuds extend very far out of the ear, to the point that even laying on a padded pillow is uncomfortable. I am fairly certain that the design inherently requires these protrusions.I would purchase again, and probably will in the next few years. Have owned a bunch of Anker stuff that is perfect for daily media enjoyment.
All of my power banks are from Anker and their batteries never fail - even in sub zero temperatures when out on the trail backpacking. I've been a fan of my Apple AirPods but, like most of my hiking friends, don't like how they crap out after about 4 hours. When you're hiking a full day this means I'm without my music/audio books for another 4 hours. I haven't lost a bud yet, but I can't imagine it being fun losing one when out in the snow (white on white).I wanted some buds that lasted well into the day and I spent days researching on Amazon. For the most part I was finding Anker had the best reported battery life for a decent price. If enjoying the blissful delivery from the warmth, clarity and super-wide sound stage my Bang & Olufsen H7's deliver makes me an audiophile, then color me guilty - I do enjoy high fidelity sound quality. I knew what I was getting into with the price here; you do get what you pay for - so I wasn't expecting to get Beoplay sound for $25-50.The reviews for the Spirit were that they lacked any real bass - with 6mm drivers it's tough for something so small to hit a wide frequency range and cover all of those bases. The Spirit X have the built in over-ear hooks which do come with larger 10mm drivers, but they are not comfortable for those of us who wear glasses - at least not long term.So that left me with the Spirit Pro. For $50 it was a no brainer. I didn't want to drop $200 on a pair of Sennies or take my B&O E8's (they sound like nothing else on the planet, but again, battery craps out after 4 hours). The item came in some great packaging, looked high end. Opening the packaging you'll find a slew of differently sized ear tips and wings, and the buds themselves have a nice weight to them.Pairing was simple and the instructions are easy to follow. Once paired I opened up Spotify and threw This is Hammock at them to test out the clarity and low end range capability. They sounded flat. Opened the workout playlist and again, pretty flat - like the sound was coming from the middle, dead on between my ears.If you've listened to music through a good pair of cans/buds (Sennheiser, B&O) then you'll know that they deliver a super wide sound stage that makes you feel like you're in a theater - sound filling everywhere around you.Again, I knew I'd only spent $50 on these, but still, I was pretty disappointed. After watching a movie on Netflix and it still offering a pretty bass-less and flat sound, I was about to start a return process and send them back. Then I realized that these came with Anker's DualEQ and Qualcomm's aptX bluetooth technology. To activate you need to hold down the PLUS and PLAY buttons simultaneously for 1 second.BOOM.The stage opened up and holy sh1t these turned into little firecrackers. Bass is enhanced but SO is the soundstage they produce. A widened experience was delivered and while they're not producing the sound that my E8's give ($350), they offer everything I want - super long battery life and excellent quality sound and fidelity. If you get some of these, DO NOT FORGET TO TURN ON THE DUALEQ! It's a game changer for these bad boys.
Updated review - first pair of headphones were faulty. Anker reached out immediately and offered a replacement pair at no cost. New pair is working great. Beyond the excellent construction and good sound, I'm loving the magnetic feature that keeps headphones securely around your neck when you need to temporarily take them out of your ears. Also really appreciate the storage pouch with a simple hinge opening that allows you to drop in your earbuds and snap it shut without having to deal with drawstrings or zippers.Original review - PROS: solidly constructed and good quality sound when they work; CONS: I have a Pixel 3 and I've had to go through resetting the pairing several times now. Every so often, Soundcore Spirit Pro won't connect for some reason even though it shows up in my Pixel 3's previously paired devices. (There is nothing wrong with my phone as it will pair with other devices just fine and yes I did restart my phone just in case.) It's been frustrating, especially because my $20 pair of wireless earbuds have zero issues connecting.
Received these a couple weeks ago and will be returning. They sound just OK (bass is very muddy on tracks that feature a lot of it) and are comfortable in the ear. My biggest complaint, and the reason I'm returning them, is the battery life. I have been through several charge cycles and the battery has yet to make it through more than an hour at the gym. I can charge them at night, put them in my gym bag for use that evening, and they battery is at 40% after being off for 8-9 hours. Some serious battery drain going on. That 40% doesn't last either, less than an hour every time. Will be sending back for a refund to try something else. Definitely disappointed with this pair of $50 buds.***Update*** Anker customer service reached out after my initial review and offered to send me another pair of headphones. I've had them for about 10 days now and have had no battery issues with this pair. No drain when turned off and they easily last several 1.5hr gym sessions. The sound is also improved on this new set. Where the bass was muddy before it's much clearer and crisp. Anker customer support has been great. This is now the pair of Bluetooth I expected when I paid $50. Review updated to 4 stars.
So, I've been watching and waiting for these ever since Anker announced the Spirit line. I've been reading the reviews and talk about the Spirit and the Spirit X earphones for a couple months, so I was pretty excited for what potentially could be included in the Spirit Pro feature-set, given it was going to be $10 more expensive. The TL;DR is that these are the best Bluetooth earphones I've used to date. And pretty on-par (quality wise) with my $130 wired earphones. Latency is A+, sound quality is A+, connectivity is A+, comfort is A+, battery life/charge is A+, and the price for all of this is S tier.Sound quality:On this topic, I can say having owned and used Sennheiser HD650's and some pretty nice RHA MA750i's that the Spirit Pro's really hold up very well. The highs and mids are pretty good and the base, even in balanced mode is quite respectable. Shifting it into extra bass mode is fairly unnecessary for me, but it definitely pumps up the beat more and can potentially drown out more background sound.Though from my experience, the sound isolation is fantastic. Probably the best seal and noise cancellation I've gotten from a pair of earphones so far.Comfort and fit:So for me, the default EarWings were the perfect size for me, and I shifted down to the smaller EarTips because the medium size was a bit too much over a long period of time. But both were an air-tight seal. I wore them for 4? or so hours and barely minded them at all. Very very comfortable for me. ### A revision, I've found the medium EarTips actually perfect after some extra use. I don't have to put them as deep as I thought I did to keep them sealed and stable in my ear. Even more comfortable than I thought! The only odd quirk is it can sometimes feel weird because the seal is so airtight that putting your face in extreme positions (really huge smiles) pulls/moves the earphones but doesn't break the air seal or threaten to pull them out. So I can doing all kinds of crazy faces and jumping around and they won't budge, which is perfect.I'll also note that the cable clips work great, both the one that comes on it (Z/S pattern cable clip) and the single line clip work very well and stay where you want them to even when moving around. However they aren't so tight that if you snag the cable on something, it'll rip out of your ear or anything, instead it'll just loosen from the clip a bit.Connectivity and latency:From my testing, I can walk across my entire apartment through 3-4 pretty thick walls and the connection won't even skip a beat or get low. The only real connectivity issue I ran into was occasionally at the end of a song it would stop instead of moving on, but that could just be my phone and all I had to do was press play again on the controller attached to the cable to start it going again.Sometimes the latency will be a bit long, but 95% of the time you don't notice any latency. Of course, if you're just listening to music or something it won't be a problem anyways. Just know that you can totally use these to watch YouTube videos and things of that nature without worrying about the latency being unbearable.Connecting to a device has been very painless in my experience. You just turn the headphones on while they're near any device openly searching for Bluetooth devices and it'll be found in a couple seconds. Though it can only be connected to one device at a time, so to switch you have to turn it off and back on while the other device is near. The Bluetooth version in my manual stated it was running Bluetooth 4.2, so take from that what you will. And finally some minor tidbits. The indicator light for power/charge state/pair state is very nice to see and conveys what it needs to convey fairly intuitively. The charging cable is pretty short, and doesn't come with a USB power adapter, so you'll have to have your own if you want to plug it into a wall. The little pouch they give you to hold your earphones is very nice quality and has one of those rigid springy openings you have to gently squeeze to come apart, which I quite like. Finally, the battery charges and runs for about as long as they advertise, so that's great!I don't think I'm forgetting anything else... so this product is an easy buy in my opinion.Tested using an iPhone 7, an Apple TV, and a Windows PC.
