I love this speaker seriously. I wasn't sure what to expect because I have ordered crappy speakers that were extremely small with poor sound quality. The sound is amazing. I love loud music so its perfect for me. I also use it with my fire stick and watching movies are very enjoyable with the sound from the speaker, it intensifies the sound. I'm usually cautious with reading reviews because it's still a hit or miss but this 100% on point.
Overall, I think this is a great speaker for the price point. I haven't tested it in water yet, but I would feel comfortable taking it kayaking or tubing down the river. The cloth overlay is nice feeling and makes it feel expensive. I also do like the LED function on the bottom of it (if you don't, it can be turned off). Easy to use and connect to, and it connects much farther than anticipated. Our house is old, with thick walls that can sometimes interfere with bluetooth but so far I can be 2 floors down and it's still playing crystal clear. And the SOUND. The bass on this is incredible compared to the Amazon speaker I had before. It's so rich and beautiful really. The only thing I don't like is that there's not a next, previous, or pause/play button on the actual speaker. Sometimes I take my speaker with me but not my phone and this non-function can be a pain.
ABSOLUTELY BEST IN CLASS!It looked so cool, with unique features of mood lighting, waterproof housing. The pillar design was pretty. The idea of 360° sound was also enticing. I couldn’t wait to try it!The sound clarity is good and the bass is much better than the jbl flip, I put one against the other and they are almost identical in sound an volume with the exception of the bass response being more rounded and fuller sounding with this. The battery also lasts a nice amount of time. I use it at work pretty much all day at a lower volume (2 or 3 hours). I may end up charging it once a week if that.
I bought this Anker Flare Mini as a Christmas present for my friend. It was able to immediately connect to her Google Pixel 4a with no problem and we were both pretty impressed with how good the sound quality was for such a compact, inexpensive speaker! She also really loves the lights on the bottom, and you can cycle through a few different colors/patterns. It comes with a short microUSB cable for charging, short enough that I assume they want you to just charge it with a laptop USB port. It does not come with an AC charging adapter, however, just the little microUSB cable. That is my only minor complaint, but for this price, it's hard to beat the overall look, impressive sound quality, super fast and easy setup, and the nice little lightshow you get with it.The battery life claims up to 12 hours of usage, but the little pamphlet you get with it even says it can get up to 18 hours of battery life, so it really just comes down to what volume level you set it at.I would definitely buy one of these in the future, especially since you can actually connect two of them together for stereo sound. The volume is able to get pretty loud, and it sounds great in all directions. And I can definitely recommend it to anyone, including older people or kids because of how easy it is to setup and connect to bluetooth. Very satisfied and will definitely consider Anker bluetooth speakers in the future, even over Ultimate Ears and JBL.
A little disappointed after reading all the glowing reviews. I bought this speaker for $30 on a lightning deal. Anyway I bought this with expectation for a small travel speaker to replace my 5 year old Boombotix Boombot pro which has a tired battery. The speaker is about the size of a soda can. It sounds only slightly fuller and louder than the Boombot which is about half the size of the flare mini. I also compared it MI Bluetooth speaker, and my Earfun Uboom. The Earfun is about 20% larger but blows the Flare Mini out of water with both bass and clarity. The much smaller Mi can't produce nearly the volume of the flare but has a much more natural sound. The problem with Flare Mini is it just has no life to the sound. The high end is so rolled off that it everything sounds a little dead and muffled. Still it's a convenient speaker for a shower or hotel room, I may return it in favor of the Tribit Xsound Go which gives up TWS and 360 sound but is truly amazing for it's size. Also considering sucking it up and picking up the tiny and amazing for it's size Bose Soundlink Pro.
This speaker is advertised to use Anker's bass boast tech. However I don't know if there is a way to turn it on or if it is always on? It's lacking in bass but the sound is nice and loud on it. You cannot connect this to the Soundcore app which was a bummer. I did like that you can setup the light shows from the device itself. I ended up sending them back due to lack off bass and also discovering that the normal Flare model was on sale for the same price and had a dedicated bass boast tech button so you can hear the difference.Update: 01/9/2020 Anker reached out to me telling me they think my unit was defective and wanted to send me a new one. I informed them I had already sent it back and got the Flare model. I figured they would leave it at that. But they did not. Instead they offered me a discount on the flare I bought it another flare so I could pair them in stereo. I've always wanted to do something like that so I took their offer. I'm looking forward to pairing them and hearing them play music. Ankera customer support is great. It also makes me feel confident about buying the liberty air pro 2 earbuds knowing they will fix any issue I may have. I will definitely be buying from them in the future.

I have a few Anker Bluetooth speakers and I wanted to try a different brand because I was fed up with the soundcore select the range was terrible so I was going with sony until I seen this speaker so I decided to give Anker another try I really like good sound quality and bass and so far so good the sound is awesome color effects is nice as well different modes for color hopefully this speaker will not let me down...
For anyone looking for a portable Bluetooth speaker that actually sounds great, go no further! I am as picky as you can find regarding sound quality. The downfall with most portable speakers is the unbalanced mix of high frequencies and missing bass. Play a song with crushing low frequencies, and the speakers turn into mud or distort. Play them loud and the highs make your ears bleed. These little gems are amazing! You hear the entire frequency spectrum, and while the bass won't shake you out of your chair, you hear the bass! These are an engineering marvel as well they reproduce the entire sound spectrum. I was so impressed, I bought a second one 2 days after the first one arrived. I could not wait to try pairing them for an even more immersive experience. You will not be disappointed! Forget the big names and expensive price tags of other portable Bluetooth speakers. My friends with the more expensive big name brand speakers exclaim these sound better! I have had many of them too, and these far and away exceed them all!
These speakers are AWESOME, especially when paired! Wow. My little office now feels like a spa oasis! I discovered that the trick to pairing two together was to turn off all Bluetooth devices (phone, iPad, Mac) and press the Bluetooth buttons on each speaker at the same time for three seconds and let them sit side by side to find each other. Then once after they are paired together, then pair them to your phone or whatever. There will only be one speaker showing to pair. That’s because they are now acting as just one speaker. I didn’t need the app. Couldn’t get the app to work.
This speaker worked for a week before the battery failed. Was used in my kitchen. Never outside or exposed to any temperature extremes. Sound quality was great while it worked but I don't believe it ever held a charge or the charging interface ever worked properly. I tested with multiple micro USB cables and chargers that I confirmed work with charging other devices.Pretty disappointed in this company's QA.I contacted Anker and they promptly sent me a return label but will not ship a new unit until the defective unit is received.Since it could simply be a bad unit (it happens), I'll update the review after using the new device and running it through its paces.Until then, solid 1 star from my perspective.EDIT: Anker's customer service was great and sent a replacement and it has worked great now for months.
I think for most people, this would be a good buy for the price. I enjoy it, but find it lacking when listening to audio books (admittedly, only one audio book as of this review). For the speaker (British accent) for my audio book, the bass distorts the speakers voice and makes it hard to follow. It seems fine for listening to news radio with American accents.
I ordered this for a small pool party to be held later this month, so this baby has to perform outdoors in high humidity near a pool and over 15 people talking and laughing. In an empty living room the sound is decent. The tone changes depending upon the surface it's resting on: tinnier on the concrete counter, deeper on a teak coffee table. It charged within 2 hours and pairing with my iPhone was simple and quick. As far as the LED light show goes, I don't really care about that. I bought it for the music not the cheap disco vibe. Only two downsides thus far: 1. The directions are a joke. The pamphlet is the size of a matchbook and contains only incomprehensible graphics. 2. It won't turn off, no matter how much I press the on/off button. I'll update post-party.
This speaker is a solid option in its price range, but really stands out by being waterproof. It's small, like the advert pics show, but puts out a solid amount of sound. So far I've experienced no distortion with heavy bass (though it's not going to shake you...). The highs are crystal clear. What really amazes and pleases me is the performance you get in a waterproof speaker of this size for this price. I took it boating and it got hit by a fair amount of ocean water on deck. It kept playing the whole time. I would also highly recommend the company (brand), as their customer service worked with me on an issue and were super responsive. If you're in the market for a cord free, waterproof speaker you are going to have a very hard time finding anything else of this quality at this price point elsewhere.
So far I really like this speaker. I think the sound is good and it connects right out of the box. The lights on the bottom are cool. Good speaker for some background music on the porch or wherever. It can be turned up really loud too. I only keep it at 25% for a normal background volume.
I am a fan of Anker products -- cheaper but very good products. This Bluetooth speaker is no different. Upon first turning it on, i was surprised about how loud and clear it is. The kids love the flashing lights. One minor quibble: when first turning it on, you have to also push the Bluetooth button so that you can connect it to your phone, instead of it just automatically connecting to your phone with the power button. Overall, great product for the price.
Quality product for the price. Good Bluetooth range. Decent sound for the price. Wonderfully light/compact. Easy to use/intuitive functions. Haven’t had battery life issues but it’s early on in my usage. Will be great to bring camping next week and test it out!
As a long time Anker fan, I had been curious about Soundcore Flare Mini and it's big brother for a while. On sale, it finally fell to a price where I decided to satisfy my curiosity.HOLY COW!!!It sounds great! I am actually shocked by how good it is. Loud, clear, and just the right amount of bass. At some point soon I will by another to do the stereo pairing too.The only thing I don't really dig about it is the lights. You can turn them off, so it's not really a big deal. This is a definite buy in my opinion!ANKER - Please make a version of this that can be plugged in all the time and supports AirPlay 2. If you had something like that for around $100, I'd probably buy 5 or 6 of them! Maybe more!
