Can't express enough how much these meant to my boyfriend. He has no hearing in his left ear at all. And the only time he's heard anything from that side is when doctors tested bone conduction on him about 3 years ago. So when I saw these on Amazon I knew I had to have them.I ordered this red one and then a green one for both of us and I couldn't be happier with them. The packaging is wonderful and the carrying case is nice and waterproof. However, the best part of it all are the headphones. The moment he put them on and started playing music, he started to tear up, because hearing sound from his left side was so new and unusual for him.He still can't believe it and he's calling everyone he knows so he can hear them in stereo, listening to songs from Queen and the Beatles to hear the audio panning for the first time. It's incredible really. It makes both of us so incredibly happy!
These headphones are everything they advertise to be, I love how well they work. I can listen to music while running and still hear everything around me, it's the best. I find listening at around 1/3~1/2 volume is the best, if you crank them up too high they do start vibrating slightly against your skin and other folks start being able to hear them. My one complaint is the size of the band. It's so large that it sticks out about an inch or so off the back of my head/neck which makes it so if I try to lean my head on anything or lie down it shoves the headphones out of place. I really wish AfterShokz would make these in small, medium, and large or something like that. I would love love love to have a pair where the band was more fitted to me
Allow me to explain.Sometimes people say they don't like cats. But maybe it's because they're comparing them to dogs. It's similar with these headphones. If I were to compare them to conventional headphones based only on sound quality, conventional headphones win hands down. But if I compare the whole experience of listening to audio wearing these versus conventional headphones, it's a different story. I happen to appreciate enormously not having to feel something push on or in my ears. For comfort alone, it's well worth it to me.Also, when I wear reading glasses they don't press the arms into my head like my on-ear headphones do.
These headphone are by far the best choice if you are active outdoors. I have gone through wired earphones, bluetooth beats 2 with a wire that connects both earpieces, Bose Soundsport Free and Jabra Sport earphones. All of those had fitment issues where I had to keep reinserting them while I was running. The Aftershokz sound great and I can run with them without touching them and after a few minutes you don't even know they are there. They haven't skipped a beat and the battery lasts forever. I don't understand how they can sound so good but they do. Ditch all your other earphones and pick up one of these. I highly highly recommend them.
I first seen these in an airport and was able to listen to them and instantly loved them. When I got home I made the purchase and have been very happy I did. I am able to hold conversations with others in the gym w/out having to mute the music. The only time I experienced the vibration that others have mentioned was when there was a lot of bass in the songs, but if not a lot of bass, then no issues. Sound is good, fit is great, and the battery life is what you would expect (a weeks worth for me). If you really don't like earbuds or if you have problems with them staying in while you are exercising, then these are great. All in all these are the best headphones I've ever had.
If you don't like the wind noises while running or biking, and want to be vigilant of your surroundings, then this is THE ONLY headphone in the market that suits your need. I used to go with Sennheiser PMX 680 for many years and finally found an alternative to that. If you like PMX 680's ergonomics, and don't like using in-ear while running, then again this is for you.If you don't want to hear the surroundings and want to have a closed-back headphone experience, like in the gym, please just use the ear plug offered for free in the box. I guarantee you that the "reduction in dB of the external sound" is light years better than overpriced garbage like Bose QC (which has terrible isolation in mid-low frequency range), because the ear plug literally forbids you hear anything except the vibration conducted by your bones.Seriously, to those who said sound quality, this is a bluetooth headphone with 10 ohm impedance with design aiming to get through a 4 hour marathon. Being an audiophile myself owning multiple high-end headphones, I find the sound quality of this headphone is more than acceptable during working out. If you like sound quality why don't you bring your Tesla T1+amplifier in a run. Indeed the bass is lacking, however, the reason you feel the bass is lacking is because you listen to garbage (like Beats with high distortion and atrocious frequency response) too much. The tone of this headphone is more like a reference headphone (Sennheiser HD280), yet with less resolution.
I have perforated my right eardrum twice and my left once while serving over seas in a combat zone. These headphones are the perfect solution to my hearing problems as they bypass the ear canals. The bone conduction is fantastic, and I would not give these up for anything.
